Job summary

Fatherson International Fze in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking an Electrical Draftsman to produce detailed electrical drawings and shop drawings for building and MEP projects. You will collaborate with electrical engineers, BIM coordinators, site teams, and consultants to ensure drawings meet project requirements and standards.

Key duties include creating shop drawings, layouts for lighting and power, cable routing drawings, SLDs, and coordination with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and MEP services.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Good understanding of lighting, power, containment, cable routing, DBs, and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Prepare layouts for lighting, power, small power, emergency lighting, and electrical containment systems.
• Develop drawings for cable trays, cable trunking, conduits, DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, and electrical equipment.
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, and electrical details.
• Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural systems.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate drafting and detailing.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Prepare and update drawings based on consultant/client comments and site requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
• Assist with electrical quantity take-offs, schedules, and material documentation.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions, references, and documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM coordinators, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and approved designs.
