Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the technical execution of electrical substation projects. You will develop single-line diagrams, specify high-voltage equipment, ensure protective relay coordination, and oversee projects from conceptual design through testing and commissioning.

The role requires 8–12 years of HV/MV substation site experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of direct site execution experience in HV/MV substation construction (11kV–132kV/400kV).

Responsibilities

• Oversee site installation of substation equipment including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, control and relay panels.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with SLDs, cable trench layouts, and earthing designs.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning including transformer ratios, insulation resistance, CT/PT polarity, relay tests, and HV factory acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Installation amp Execution Oversee the physical installation of primary and secondary substation equipment including power transformers GIS AIS switchgear control and relay panels battery banks and backup diesel generators
• Drawing amp Layout Compliance Interpret and execute works based on approved single-line diagrams SLDs schematic drawings cable trench layouts and earthing grounding grid designs
• Testing amp Commissioning Coordinate and witness pre-commissioning tests e g transformer ratio insulation resistance CT PT polarity relay injection tests and high-voltage factory site acceptance testing

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering .
• Experience: 8-12 years of direct site execution experience, specifically focusing on HV/MV Substation Construction (ranging from 11kV to 132kV/400kV projects).
