Job summary

NMC is seeking an EEG Technologist to manage high-quality EEG and Nerve-Muscle tracings, ensuring artifact-free recordings and accurate documentation. You will apply specialized EEG techniques, coordinate with colleagues, and maintain equipment and records to support timely patient care.

The ideal candidate holds a DOH/DHA license, a degree in Neurotechnology or Neurodiagnostic Technology, and at least three years of experience in a JCI-accredited hospital facility, with strong English

Qualifications

• Valid DOH/DHA License as EEG Technologist.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Neurotechnology or Neurodiagnostic Technology.
• Minimum three years' experience in a JCI-accredited hospital facility.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic knowledge advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic IT.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper EEG and EMG procedures and records.
• Prepares patients and records high-quality EEG and Nerve-Muscle tracings; eliminates artifacts.
• Applies specialized EEG techniques (photic stimulation, hyperventilation, pediatric EEG montages).
• Performs NCS procedures and nerve studies as required.
• Handles evoked potentials and intra-operative recordings.
• Keeps equipment clean, calibrated, and well-stocked.
• Maintains logs and coordinates with team for smooth lab operation.

oPractices proper entries and records on Hospital Information System (Insta)
oShould be well versed in preparing patients and recording high quality EEG and Nerve-Muscle tracings and be able to detect and eliminate artifacts.
oNeeds to have theoretical, technical and practical knowledge of special techniques in EEG like Photic stimulation, hyperventilation, adult and pediatric EEG montages, Electrode pasting for long term Video EEG, ICU recordings and Pediatric EEGs, Pruning EEG videos and important electrographic events; and NCS procedures like Repetitive Nerve Stimulation, comparative nerve studies and special nerve studies like Blink Reflex etc.
oShould have the ability to do or learn Evoked potentials, Intra-operative peripheral or brain surface recordings.
oCleans the electrodes and machines and stores them properly.
oMaintains apparatus, making minor adjustments when faults occur.
oMaintains stock of paper, electrodes, paste, jelly, EMG Needles etc.
oTakes care of proper storage of all apparatus
oKeeps log book record of EEG and EMG procedures
oCoordinate with Colleagues to maintain smooth lab functioning and emergency services whenever required.

Qualifications:

• Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge in Arabic language will advantageous/desirable but not essential.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skill.
• Proficient technology application skills; Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, & Power point) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills.
