Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design development and regulatory compliance of educational facilities, overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring alignment with ADEK guidelines.

You will manage design outputs across stages, collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants, and drive quality assurance, workshops, and reports to support procurement and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering or related design discipline.
• 10 years of experience in design management within PMC or consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering school or educational facility projects in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of ADEK standards and compliance processes or UK curriculums.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex design packages.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full design process during the Design & Build phase of works.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including architects, engineers and consultants.
• Ensure design integrity, consistency, and quality across project stages.
• Interpret and apply ADEK regulations, design standards and educational facility guidelines.
• Work closely with the Project Management Team to align design deliverables with schedules and budgets.
