Context

The Early Years Teacher – Nursery will contribute to a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment where children can develop through structured play, guided activities, observation, and age‑appropriate education. The role requires strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, child wellbeing, classroom routines, inclusion, and learning assessment. Working closely with nursery leadership, colleagues, children, and parents, the position helps maintain high‑quality early years practice across Emirates British Nursery locations in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and carry out educational activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Deliver learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and the nursery's curriculum expectations.
  • Encourage independent learning through age‑appropriate tasks, play‑based exploration, guided discovery, and classroom routines.
  • Provide a high standard of care while supporting children's confidence, curiosity, communication, and early learning progress.
  • Promote acceptance, inclusion, and respect for all children within the nursery environment.
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual learning needs, development levels, and abilities of children in the classroom.
  • Monitor children's progress and record individual needs through the Learning and Development Profile Book.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's work, behaviour, milestones, and development to support accurate progress reporting.
  • Maintain responsibility for children's care, welfare, health, safety, and security during nursery activities and daily routines.
  • Support smooth classroom transitions, outdoor play, meal routines, rest periods, group activities, and individual learning sessions.
  • Work with colleagues to create a warm, organised, and engaging learning environment that supports the British early years approach.
  • Participate in preparing reports on children's learning, development, strengths, and areas requiring additional support.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and support the nursery's child‑centred approach to early childhood education.
  • Follow nursery policies, safeguarding expectations, health and safety procedures, and classroom management standards.
  • Support activities across Emirates British Nursery locations in Dubai, including Motor City, Mirdif, The Villa, and Dubai Silicon Oasis when required.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by nursery management to support daily operations and child development goals.
Ideal Profile
  • University Degree in Early Childhood, Education, or a relevant specialization supported by a certified vocational certificate in early childhood care and education at Level III.
  • High school diploma may be considered when combined with a certified vocational certificate in early childhood care and education such as Cache Level 3.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the care or education of children is preferred for candidates applying through the diploma and Cache Level 3 route.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and British curriculum nursery practices.
  • Native‑level English proficiency with the ability to communicate clearly with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience supporting young children's learning, classroom routines, child development, inclusion, observation, and assessment.
  • Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for early years learners.
  • Patient, caring, and positive approach with strong awareness of children's emotional and developmental needs.
  • Strong organisational skills for maintaining learning records, classroom resources, activity plans, and child development notes.
  • Currently residing in Dubai or planning to relocate to Dubai is preferred.
  • Flexible and collaborative attitude with the ability to work as part of a nursery team across multiple Dubai locations.
