Job summary

The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic Student Support Assistant for the EAL team. You will provide individual and small-group support to students learning English as an Additional Language, supporting their academic progress and wellbeing.

You will work closely with teachers and the EAL Coordinator to monitor progress, maintain records, and contribute to EAL Plans and support programmes. Fluency in English is essential, and additional languages are an advantage.

Qualifications

• Fluent English language skills are required; knowledge of an additional language is an advantage.
• Experience supporting EAL students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group EAL support to students.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to the development and review of Individual EAL Plans and support programmes.
• Collaborate with class teachers, the EAL Coordinator, and the Head of Inclusion.
