Job summary

GEMS FirstPoint School in Dubai seeks an outstanding Teacher of Science to join for an August 2026 start. You will deliver the science curriculum, plan engaging lessons, and support students across varied abilities including ESL learners and high achievers.

The role requires a Bachelor of Education with a science major or a PGCE, plus a UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent check. You will work within a dynamic international school community committed to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education with a major in Science or a PGCE.
UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a prerequisite for appointment.

Responsibilities

Deliver the required curriculum with up-to-date subject knowledge.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that motivate students and cater for different learning styles.
Maintain planning records, year plans, attendance and assessment documentation.
Teach students with diverse needs, including ESL learners and gifted students.
Set, mark and assess work, and report on progress.
Use media and technology effectively in the classroom.
Promote student wellbeing and provide educational guidance.
Collaborate with colleagues on materials, resources and pastoral arrangements.
Support co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes.
Monitor and manage student behaviour and cultural awareness.
Assist with planning school events and communications with parents.
