About the school

GEMS FirstPoint School opened in 2014 and is positioned in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai. It is a Premium British Curriculum School, providing an excellent standard of education to around 2000 students from Nursery to Year 13. • Teach students according to their individual needs, using appropriate strategies for a range of abilities including late-entering students, ESL learners, and gifted and talented students.
• Set, mark and assess work, recording and reporting on academic development and progress.
• Use media and technology effectively in the classroom.
• Promote the general progress and well-being of students and provide educational guidance.
• Participate in appraisal, performance management and continuing professional development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues on teaching materials, resources and pastoral arrangements.
• Lead or support co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes.
• Monitor and manage student behaviour, promoting self-discipline and cultural awareness.
• Assist with the planning and organisation of school events and functions.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of student progress while maintaining confidentiality.
