Job summary

Velora Aviation is seeking a Ramp Duty Manager to oversee ground handling activities at Zayed International Airport. You will manage 24‑hour ramp operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and alignment with commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage airside operations during critical and non‑critical situations on a shift basis, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance across the workforce and adjust manpower according to demand.
• Deliver ramp KPIs in line with agreements and safety/operational standards, including reporting and cost-efficient performance.
• Lead and evaluate a large, multicultural workforce, managing the work environment, evaluations, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee operational systems for the team, ensuring smooth running and timely submission of reports.
• Collaborate with airport stakeholders through regular meetings and represent Velora Ground in discussions with customer airlines.
• Raise accurate shift reports, highlight updates, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, identify resource needs and coach staff.
• Maintain strong operational knowledge of airport operations, safety SOPs, security requirements and emergency plans with effective leadership and stakeholder management

In this role, you are accountable to ensure all ground handling activities for Velora Aviation’s Ramp Operations at Zayed International Airport are effectively planned and executed to achieve Velora Ground’s commercial and operational objectives in line with corporate policy, safety requirements, international standards and customer expectations. As Ramp Duty Manager, you will provide immediate operational value by managing 24‑hour ramp activities.

Job Purpose

In this role, you are accountable to ensure all ground handling activities for Velora Aviation’s Ramp Operations at Zayed International Airport are effectively planned and executed to achieve Velora Ground’s commercial and operational objectives in line with corporate policy, safety requirements, international standards and customer expectations. As Ramp Duty Manager, you will provide immediate operational value by managing 24‑hour ramp activities.

Job Accountabilities

• Manage airside operations during critical and non‑critical situations on a shift basis, ensuring all activities run efficiently while continuously improving handling standards and team productivity.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance across the workforce and adjust manpower levels according to operational demand.
• Deliver ramp KPIs in line with ground handling agreements, customer contracts, internal safety and operational standards including reporting and cost‑efficient performance.
• Lead and evaluate a large, diverse, multicultural workforce by managing the work environment ensuring uniform compliance, conducting evaluations and monitoring performance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee operational systems for team, ensuring smooth running and timely submission of operational and safety reports.
• Collaborate with airport stakeholders through regular meetings and represent Velora Ground in discussions with customer airlines to resolve operational issues.
• Raise accurate and timely shift reports, highlight key operational updates, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, identify resource requirements and support employees through coaching and counselling to improve performance during the shift.
• Maintain strong operational knowledge of airport operations, airside safety SOPs, security requirements and emergency plans while demonstrating effective leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in airport or airline passenger handling within ramp / airside operations
• Excellent leadership skills and at least 3 years’ experience in managing large diverse teams is a must.
