Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in Dubai, UAE to oversee civil works and cut and cover tunnel construction within major rail projects. The role carries day-to-day responsibility for construction delivery from inception through completion, including contractor management, schedule monitoring, site safety, quality, risk, contract administration and coordination with the client.

Candidates require at least 15 years of relevant construction management experience, specifically

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in comparable construction management positions.
• Specific experience with rail design and consultancy projects.
• Proven track record managing large-scale rail construction projects from inception through completion.
• Experience in risk management, contract administration and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities within the site boundaries from inception through completion.
• Monitor progress against the contractor's approved schedule.
• Review the availability of labor, equipment and tools and ensure resources remain at acceptable operating levels.
• Verify compliance with applicable UAE legal requirements and project-specific requirements.
• Undertake site inspections, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with the project management process.
• Ensure contractors obtain the necessary permits before commencing relevant work.
• Support the client in overseeing construction and identifying project risks and opportunities.
• Recommend strategies that can support cost savings and improved project delivery timelines.
• Prepare internal and external project status reports summarizing construction progress for senior management and the client.
• Monitor quality standards, health and safety requirements and regulatory compliance throughout construction execution.
