Job summary

Vision Excellence Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is seeking a Consultant/Specialist Ophthalmologist to join its advanced eye care team. The role covers diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment in a modern clinic with state-of-the-art ophthalmic technology.

The position focuses on cataract surgery, glaucoma, retinal care, and refractive procedures, collaborating with optometrists and medical specialists to deliver comprehensive eye care.

Qualifications

• Applicants should hold recognised specialist qualifications such as those listed (medical licensing may be required in DOH/DHA/MOH).
• Licensing guidance and support will be provided where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and infections.
• Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract surgery and microsurgical interventions.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using visual acuity testing, slit-lamp, and fundoscopic evaluation.
• Utilise advanced diagnostic tools (OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging) for assessment.
• Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Collaborate with optometrists and other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
• Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and preventive strategies.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and EMR compliance.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement programs.
• Ensure adherence to international ophthalmology guidelines and UAE regulations.
