Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai seeks a Structural Engineer - Facade Systems to lead the structural design and validation of aluminum and building envelope systems. You will analyze curtain walls, glazing, cladding, and related components from design through installation, ensuring safety and code compliance.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience, strong wind and load analysis knowledge, and proficiency with STAAD.Pro/SAP2000/ETABS and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
5-8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
Strong background in aluminum, facade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or building envelope systems.
Demonstrated experience performing structural analysis for aluminum profiles and facade support systems.
Strong understanding of wind loading, stress analysis, deflection criteria, thermal movement, and connection design.
Practical knowledge of mullions, transoms, steel reinforcements, anchors, brackets, and fixing systems.
Experience working with curtain wall and glazing systems from design through fabrication and installation.
Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS) and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of Revit or BIM workflows is advantageous.
Familiar with Eurocode, BS, AAMA, ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for curtain walls, glazing, cladding, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, and related facade components.
Prepare structural calculations for aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, steel reinforcements, brackets, anchors, and connection systems.
Evaluate wind, dead, live, thermal, and project-specific loads.
Verify stresses, deflections, stability, and connection capacity.
Review drawings to identify engineering requirements and coordination constraints.
Coordinate with facade designers, BIM Modelers, Architects, and production teams.
Provide structural guidance during design development and shop drawing prep.
Ensure compatibility with fabrication methods and site installation requirements.
Review shop drawings and installation details for consistency with calculations.
Prepare structural calculation reports and technical submissions for reviews.
Maintain revision control for calculations and reports.
Support method statements and engineering responses when required.
Work with factory teams to resolve fabrication-related structural issues.
Coordinate steel reinforcement, brackets, fixing, and connections with Production teams.
Provide site engineering support for anchors, tolerances, and installation constraints.
Investigate structural concerns and propose corrective solutions.
Participate in technical meetings, coordination sessions, and site inspections.
Assess non-conformities and coordinate QA/QC resolution.
Identify structural risks and propose mitigations.
