Job summary

Azizi Development UAE is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead facade systems design for high-rise and mixed-use projects in Dubai. You will oversee wind loads, seismic considerations, and envelope assemblies.

The role requires 8–12 years of UAE/GCC facade experience, coordination with architects, BIM teams, and fabricators, and delivering compliant shop drawings and calculations.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of structural engineering experience.
• Significant facade or building envelope experience.
• UAE or GCC facade experience mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and engineering activities for facade, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and aluminum systems.
• Perform structural calculations and analysis covering wind loads, dead loads, seismic loads, and other applicable design loads.
• Develop and review structural details for facade connections, brackets, anchors, and support systems.
• Review and approve structural drawings, shop drawings, engineering calculations, and technical submissions.
• Verify that proposed structural solutions satisfy relevant project specifications and performance requirements.
• Review material specifications, technical data sheets, and structural performance criteria.
• Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable international codes and authority requirements.
• Coordinate structural engineering requirements with architects, consultants, structural engineers, BIM teams, and project and site teams.
• Conduct technical reviews of facade designs and identify potential structural or constructability issues.
• Provide engineering solutions for design changes, site conditions, and technical challenges.
• Coordinate design requirements with manufacturing and production teams to ensure solutions are practical for fabrication.
• Review facade structural systems with consideration for materials, connections, installation methods, and overall performance.
• Resolve technical interfaces between design intent, fabrication requirements, and site installation.
• Support the preparation and review of structural calculations and design documentation.
• Prepare or review technical reports and engineering submissions.
• Contribute technical input to method statements where required.
• Maintain accuracy and technical consistency across engineering deliverables.
• Ensure required design and engineering documentation is completed within project deadlines.
• Conduct site inspections when required and provide structural engineering support for facade installation and construction issues.
• The role will work with project and site teams to address technical discrepancies and ensure installed systems remain consistent with approved engineering requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and designers.
