Job summary

CS & Clarks is seeking a Design Manager with extensive experience in steel structures to lead the design team in Dubai. The role involves overseeing the design of steel structures, coordinating with engineers, architects, and clients, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will drive design strategies, mentor staff, and contribute to bids and proposals while managing budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in design of steel structures, with at least 3 years in leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures) and engineering principles related to steel structure design.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage multiple projects, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design team, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination between engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
• Oversee the design process of steel structures, ensuring all projects meet technical standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement design strategies, workflows, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Liaise with clients and consultants to gather project requirements and ensure design solutions meet expectations.
• Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure seamless integration of design with project planning, execution, and delivery.
• Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and feasibility.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in steel structure design and construction.
• Manage and mentor design staff, fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.
• Contribute to proposals, presentations, and bids, showcasing design capabilities.
