Job summary

NMDC Careers in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced dredging project lead to manage day-to-day dredging activities and support the development of detailed project plans. You will ensure execution per plan, monitor safety, coordinate with teams and manage subcontractors.

Responsibilities include weekly progress reporting, risk mitigation, and data-driven decision making. Strong leadership, PMP asset and ability to work autonomously are preferred for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Master / bachelor\'s degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • 5 years of experience on dredging projects in relevant role.
  • PMP certification will be an asset.
  • In depth understanding of dredging processes/use of dredging equipment/ land reclamation/ pipelines, cutter types, pick points etc
  • Ability to transform raw data (CSV-files, loggings) into readable format and interpret this format to draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and be responsible for day to day dredging activities on a project.
  • Provide input for the development of the detailed project plan to the Dredging Works manager.
  • Ensure dredging activities are executed per project plan.
  • Provide weekly reports on milestones, progress, budget, issues and planning.
  • Delegate tasks to dredge supervisor and Sr. dredge masters; assess performance and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor, evaluate and control subcontractor activities.
  • Coordinate with project team and ensure data transfer to stakeholders.
  • Plan staffing for dredging activities and ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Ensure safety, HSE compliance, inspections, and follow-up on nonconformities.
  • Prepare daily, weekly operational plans and reports; monitor equipment condition and reporting
  • Ensure on-site safety, compliance, and incident reporting; implement corrective actions.
  • Define Emergency Response Plan responsibilities and ensure readiness.
  • Track progress of works and subcontractor performance in daily reports.

Job description

  • Manage and be responsible for day to day dredging activities on a project
  • Provide the Dredging Works manager with input for the development of the detailed project plan
  • Ensure that dredging activities are executed as per project plan
  • Provide weekly report to the Works Manager on milestones, work/ done, progress, budget, issues and planning
  • Delegate specific responsibilities to dredge supervisor and Sr. dredge masters(s) and analyze their daily reports. Assess performance and suggest efficiency improvement activities. Identify risks and appropriate mitigations; escalate if necessary to Works
  • Monitor, evaluate and control activities of subcontractors
  • Ensure cooperation between project team members and a smooth data/ information transfer to internal and if applicable, external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and plan optimal staffing for dredging related activities
  • Cooperate constructively, efficiently and effectively with Technical-, QA/HSE-, Estimation & Operational Advisory departments
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that risks and impacts are properly communicated to all supervisors and workers, and that work is carried out safely on a daily basis
  • Making sure that the project activities comply with HSE regulations and requirements
  • Carrying out inspections, reporting of nonconformities and ensuring that these are followed up
  • Ensuring that all employees understand the HSE regulations
  • Ensuring that accidents, near-misses and hazardous situations are reported and corrective actions are implemented on site
  • Proposing measures to prevent risks for personnel
  • Responsibilities towards emergency response are defined in the Emergency Response Plan
  • Follow the daily, weekly Operational planning
  • Plan upcoming activities (weekly) with WM & SDM
  • Actively involved in the Mobilization/Demobilization
  • Execution daily activities
  • Daily reporting items towards Project Management.
  • ensure that the ship and all auxiliary equipment under his supervision is checked, that it is in good condition, and that defects are reported
  • Check that all hired plant equipment is safe and where appropriate periodic tests and inspections reports are available
  • Ensure that work under his control is carried out safely and without risk to health
  • Establish chapters of the final report of the Project-operations pertaining to performance, production, soil data and other price influencing elements
  • The Progress of the Works, own works and subcontractor's work
  • Takes control of the dredging process on daily base, checks productions and determines how to improve the productions in accordance with site constraints
