Job summary

PlaceUp is seeking a Draughtsman in Dubai to prepare accurate technical drawings for construction, MEP and façade projects, coordinating with engineers, architects and site teams to ensure compliance and quality.

Responsibilities include creating shop and as-built drawings, preparing plans, elevations, sections, detailing façade and MEP drawings, reviewing for clashes, updating drawings with site changes, and maintaining document control.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• 2–5 years of Draughtsman experience in construction, MEP, façade, aluminium or glazing.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency; familiarity with Revit/BIM is a plus.
• Ability to read/interpret architectural, structural, MEP drawings.
• Detail-oriented with knowledge of detailing and documentation.

The Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and construction details for construction, MEP, and façade projects. The role will work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical, construction, shop, and as-built drawings.
• Develop drawings based on architectural, structural, MEP, and façade designs.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and installation drawings.
• Produce façade drawings including curtain wall, cladding, glazing, aluminium, and related details where applicable.
• Prepare MEP drawings covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building services as required.
• Coordinate drawings between architectural, structural, façade, and MEP disciplines.
• Review drawings and identify potential clashes, inconsistencies, or technical issues.
• Incorporate engineer and consultant comments into drawings.
• Prepare drawings for submission, approval, fabrication, and site execution.
• Update drawings based on site changes and prepare accurate as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors to ensure drawings reflect actual project requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control.
• Ensure all drawings follow project standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Assist engineers and project teams with technical documentation and drawing requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Draughtsman within construction, MEP, façade, aluminium, glazing, or related industries.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit, BIM, or other relevant design software is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and technical drawings.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of drawing revisions and technical documentation.
• Ability to work with engineers, consultants, contractors, and site teams.
• Ability to manage multiple drawings and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
