Job summary

China Civil Engineering in Dubai seeks an experienced Structural Draughtsman with a strong background in roads and infrastructure projects, including bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, culverts, and other reinforced concrete structures. You will prepare General Arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, bar bending details, and structural shop drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Structural Draughtsman.
• 2–3 years UAE roads and infrastructure experience.
• Experience with bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls and RC structures.
• Strong reinforcement detailing and General Arrangement drawings.
• Familiar with RTA standards and submission procedures.
• Ability to interpret design drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings for bridges, underpasses, walls, culverts, foundations, abutments, piers and decks.
• Develop General Arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing and shop drawings.
• Create drawings based on approved calculations, IFCs and specifications.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, BIM teams, site teams and contractors.
• Incorporate consultant comments and maintain drawing registers.
• Prepare as-built drawings from site modifications.
• Ensure drawings comply with project standards and authority requirements.
• Support quantity take-offs and technical submissions when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings for bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, abutments, piers, decks, and associated infrastructure structures.
• Develop General Arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, bar bending details, and structural shop drawings.
• Prepare drawings based on approved design calculations, IFC drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, BIM teams, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Incorporate consultant and authority comments and maintain updated drawing registers.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on approved site modifications.
• Ensure drawings comply with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and relevant project standards.
• Support quantity take-offs and technical submissions when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or ITI qualification in Civil Engineering or Draftsmanship.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsman.
• At least 2–3 years of UAE roads and infrastructure experience.
• Proven experience in bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, and reinforced concrete infrastructure structures.
• Strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing and General Arrangement drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; MicroStation experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with RTA project standards and drawing submission procedures is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret structural design drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Mandatory Experience

Candidates must have experience in bridge, underpass, or road-infrastructure structural works. Candidates with only building or high-rise drafting experience will not be considered.
