Job summary

Otis L.L.C on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, UAE is seeking a CAD/BIM Engineer with strong AutoCAD and BIM experience for elevator and escalator projects. The role requires 5–6 years in the industry, and proficiency in MS Office with excellent English communication.

The candidate will coordinate with FOD/Sales, draft installation drawings, review technical details, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across project stages. This is a full-time on-site position in Dubai.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Certification in AutoCAD.
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is required.
• Minimum 5-6 years in Elevator/Escalator industry.
• Proficient in MS Office; good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with FOD/Sales team to gather information on site for drawings used in estimation and installation support.
• Drafts complex installation drawings using CAD software based on customer drawings and field inputs.
• Reviews installation drawings with FOD teams for technical details and with Sales for verification at project completion.
• Implements layout changes per client requirements and maintains drawing registers.
• Identifies potential operational issues and redesigns products to improve functionality.
• Records modification requests and executes revisions after review and approval.
• Ensures final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Maintains the drawing process for all drawings across different sources to ensure updates.
• Ensures safety requirements are indicated on layout drawings.
• Executes document and data control procedures related to technical drawings.
• Sets annual performance goals with manager and ensures achievement.
• Identifies and arranges required trainings to enhance competencies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with the FOD/Sales team for information on the site to support the team with drawings for estimation and installation purposes.
• Drafts complex installation drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on customer supplied drawings standard drawings and field inputs given by the FOD/Sales team.
• Reviews installation drawings with FOD teams for technical details and sales team for verification of specification at project completion.
• Performs changes in layout according to client requirement.
• Maintains and updates the drawing registers as per drawing procedure.
• Identifies potential operational issues and redesigns products to improve functionality.
• Records modification requests received by the client or internal teams and carry out the modification after review and approval from the concerned FOD team.
• Ensures final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Maintains a process for all drawings (customer supplied drawings standard drawing installation drawings and revised drawings) to ensure they are updated.
• Ensures that all safety requirements are stipulated on the layout drawing in line with the company requirement.
• Executes document and data control procedures related to technical drawings.
• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the year.
• Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
• Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.

Required Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelors in engineering or equivalent years of relevant experience
• Certification in AutoCAD
• Experience of BIM (Building Information Module) is a must
• Minimum 5-6 years of relevant work experience in Elevator/Escalator industry
• Proficient in MS Office
• Good Communication skills in English
