Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead modernization projects across our Dubai operations.

You will develop modernization configurations, evaluate feasibility, review specs, conduct site surveys, and ensure successful handover to Project Management and Operations teams. You will collaborate with sales, estimation, factories, and procurement to deliver safe, compliant solutions, manage risks, and support field teams during installation.

• Ensure complete technical handover of projects to PM and Operations teams.
• Support field teams during installation by resolving technical issues.
• Support value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining safety and performance.

Job Description:

Essential responsibilities for this role, but not limited to it:

• Develop modernization configurations and technical proposals in accordance with company standards, safety codes, and customer requirements.
• Evaluate feasibility of modernization solutions considering existing equipment condition, shaft constraints, machine room limitations, and site-specific challenges.
• Review technical specifications, tender requirements, and consultant documentation to ensure compliance.
• Conduct comprehensive site surveys and issue detailed survey reports including technical findings, risks, and recommended solutions.
• Ensure complete technical handover of awarded projects to Project Management and Operations teams.
• Support field teams during installation by resolving technical issues and clarifying engineering requirements.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining safety and performance standards.
• Identify technical risks impacting project costs, delivery timelines, and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with factories, engineering centers, procurement teams, and logistics functions to ensure accuracy of ordered materials.
• Ensure modernization solutions comply with local authority requirements, EN81, company engineering standards, and applicable elevator safety regulations.
• Identify site safety risks during surveys and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of technical surveys, modernization configurations, material requirements, and cost optimization to support the timely and successful delivery of material
• Coordinate and provide technical support for the sales and estimation teams

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment
• Candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customers
• Needs to be self-motivated and able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilities
• Candidate should be comfortable in a technical environment utilizing Microsoft based computer software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Critical Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UAE driving license
• Minimum 5 years of elevator industry experience in modernization, engineering, field operations, technical support, installation, or service
• Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator modernization products and applications
• Experience in site surveying, technical estimation, and solution development
