The Director of Housekeeping at Kempinski Dubai leads the Housekeeping Department to uphold Kempinski standards of cleanliness, safety and guest comfort across all areas of the hotel. You will develop objectives, manage budgets, supervise staff, and coordinate contracts to ensure defect-free service.

Applicants should have strong leadership, operational knowledge of housekeeping equipment, experience with Opera PMS, and the ability to partner with other departments to deliver exemplary

• Manage linen, guest supplies and purchasing to meet quality standards.
• Prepare budgets and staffing guides and ensure department operates within budget.
• Coordinate and monitor contracts for plant rental, cleaning services, and decor.

Director of Housekeeping

Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the Housekeeping Department in order to ensure the highest standards of upkeep, hygiene and cleanliness of the Hotel, including all Guest rooms, public areas, food & beverage outlets, banquet facilities and back of the house. Closely monitors all processes related to ensuring that the housekeeping services provided to the guest are timely and defect free.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Housekeeping Department by developing and implementing departmental objectives in line with the hotel business objectives.
• Inspect all areas and take corrective measures in order to meet Kempinski Standards in terms of cleanliness, maintenance and supply.
• Select, train, develop, schedule and manage the performance of direct and indirect subordinates to ensure the efficient running of housekeeping operations.
• Manage linen inventory and guest supplies and the ordering of supplies as necessary to meet quality standards and hotel business needs.
• Prepare the annual budget and manning guide and manage the housekeeping department within budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate and review contracts, including plant rental, window cleaning, night cleaning, pest management, room cleaning, and flowers and decoration contracts, and ensure compliance by both parties.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Operational knowledge of housekeeping equipment and machines, including washing machines, dry-cleaners and pressing machines
• Knowledge of how to clean different fabric materials
• Knowledge of chemicals
• Proficiency in Opera PMS and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with superb presentation and grooming
