Job summary

Space42 seeks a Director of AI to lead the design, development, and deployment of large‑scale AI systems across geospatial, digital twin, and defense portfolios.

You will own end‑to‑end AI lifecycles, drive architectural standards, and ensure sovereign, defense‑grade performance and security. This role combines technical authority with delivery leadership and a focus on building high‑impact AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS/AI or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering.
• 8+ years AI/ML development in production.
• 5+ years designing data warehouses or data lakes.
• 5+ years designing and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Proven experience deploying AI systems at scale.
• Strong mentoring skills and leadership of senior teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development, and deployment of AI models across domains.
• Define secure, high‑performance AI systems for cloud, hybrid, and edge.
• Provide hands‑on guidance to senior engineers and ML researchers.
• Own AI workstreams across multiple Government, defense, and commercial programs.
• Translate requirements into AI roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Oversee MLOps pipelines, monitoring, and model lifecycle management.
• Mentor and grow a high‑performing AI engineering team.
