Job summary

A&O Shearman in Dubai or Abu Dhabi is seeking an associate to join the Digital, Data, IP and Technology group. The role focuses on commercial/DDIT contracts, IP licensing and data privacy with exposure to technology transactions and complex deals across the UAE region.

The candidate will support on M&A, collaboration and digital infrastructure matters, while advising clients and managing project delivery in a fast-paced international environment.

Qualifications

• 1-5 PQE qualified lawyer with solid knowledge of commercial/DDIT contracts and experience drafting, analysing and negotiating such contracts.
• Experience in drafting service agreements, software licences/SaaS agreements, IP licences and development agreements is required.
• Strong understanding of non-contentious IP transactions, M&A support, digital infrastructure and data privacy advice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating DDIT agreements.
• Providing strategic advice on matters within the DDIT remit.
• Managing client expectations and delivering projects effectively.
• Business development and execution of a personal plan to support campaigns.
• Legal research and precedent work.
