We are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to operate, secure, and improve primarily on-premises infrastructure , with strong focus on Linux, identity/access management, virtualization, storage, containerization, networking, security, and restricted/air-gapped environments.
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, SRE, Systems Engineering, or a similar hands-on role.
Strong Linux administration and trouble shooting across Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with centralized identity and access management using FreeIPA, Active Directory, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, OpenLDAP, LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD, PAM, or equivalent.
Experience integrating Linux servers/endpoints with organizational accounts and managing SSH, sudo, group-based access, RBAC, service accounts, and privileged access .
Strong experience with on-premises infrastructure , including physical servers, provisioning, hardware lifecycle, firmware, RAID, iDRAC/iLO/IPMI, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
Experience with virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, VMware, KVM, or equivalent, including VM provisioning, networking, storage, snapshots, templates, and clustered environments.
Strong experience with NAS/shared storage , including NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, ACLs, UID/GID mapping, quotas, snapshots, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and capacity planning.
Strong hands-on Docker/containerization expertise, including Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, volumes, networking, private registries, permissions, security, and runtime troubleshooting.
Ability to support developers with dependency and environment issues , including OS packages, shared libraries, compilers, Python/package dependencies, build toolchains, and reproducible development environments.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, firewalls, NAT, MTU, and Linux network troubleshooting .
Experience operating infrastructure in restricted, disconnected, or air-gapped environments , including offline package management, internal repositories, private registries, controlled software transfer, and trust/certificate management.
Strong understanding of infrastructure security , including least privilege, Linux hardening, SSH security, TLS/PKI, internal certificate authorities, secrets, service accounts, vulnerability management, patching, and audit controls.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, Ansible, or equivalent tools .
Experience with Git and self-hosted CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent, including runners/agents, build environments, artifacts, and container-based pipelines.
Experience with Kubernetes or other on-premises container orchestration platforms is preferred.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Loki, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, or equivalent.
Strong root-cause analysis, documentation, and cross-team troubleshooting skills across Linux, networking, storage, identity, containers, and security.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working close to the infrastructure, understands how systems behave at the OS and network level, and can troubleshoot across Linux, identity, storage, virtualization, containers, networking, and security .
The role requires strong ownership, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with developers while maintaining secure, reliable, and well-controlled on-premises environments.
