Job summary

Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi invites a skilled DevOps Engineer to join the AI and Digital Science Research Centre. You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, and IaC to support cutting-edge research software.

You will collaborate with researchers to streamline delivery workflows, ensure secure deployments, and improve developer experience through tooling and automation across development, testing, and production environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or similar role aiding software teams.
• Hands-on designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar automation languages.
• Experience with Linux scripting, networking, and sysadmin tasks.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying apps on Kubernetes.
• IaC and config management with Terraform/OpenTofu/Ansible.
• Helm and GitOps tools such as FluxCD or Argo CD.
• Knowledge of software delivery practices, tests, artifact versioning, release management, rollback.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration with researchers and engineers.
• Experience with AI/ML apps or GPU workloads is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, packaging, and deployment.
• Collaborate with software engineers and researchers to support app development and delivery workflows.
• Develop reusable deployment templates, Helm charts, and IaC modules.
• Manage container build workflows, artifact registries, dependencies, and configurations across environments.
• Implement GitOps for version-controlled deployments.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, configuration, and runtime issues.
• Integrate automated security checks, dependency scanning, and secrets management into pipelines.
• Improve developer experience with self-service tooling, automation, and docs.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and reliability teams to meet monitoring, scalability, and recovery needs.
