Job summary

Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Lead Researcher in its AI Research Center. You will spearhead advanced AI research initiatives, design and guide project work from conception to completion, and mentor junior researchers and interns.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists and product teams to translate theoretical advancements into practical applications, ensure high-quality publications, and uphold ethical and responsible AI practices

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of research experience in AI or related domains.
• Proven record of publishing in peer-reviewed venues.
• Expertise with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and big data tech.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct original AI research across ML, DL, NLP, and CV.
• Oversee research projects, ensuring timely delivery and strategic alignment.
• Develop and implement novel algorithms for real-world use cases.
• Stay current with AI advancements and integrate them into work.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams.
• Present research outcomes through reports and top-tier publications.
• Mentor junior researchers and interns on methodologies and execution.
• Ensure adherence to ethical standards and responsible AI practices.
