Job summary

GEMS World Academy, Abu Dhabi invites applications from experienced Design Technology Technicians to join from August 2026. The role provides technical and practical support to the Creative Arts & Technology department, maintaining a safe workshop and assisting students with projects.

You will work with IB, British Curriculum and NCfE programs, handle tools and equipment, ensure COSHH compliance, and contribute to exhibitions and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or certification in Design & Technology, Engineering, Workshop Practice, or a related field.
• Proven experience with workshop machinery and tools (woodworking, metalworking, plastics).
• Strong health and safety knowledge within a workshop environment (COSHH, risk assessments).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to policies relating to administration, operations, health & safety, and inventory management.
• Maintain safe, organized workshop and stock control; assist with orders.
• Prepare and set up tools and materials for lessons across IB, British, and NCfE programs.
