Job summary

Emirates is seeking a Design & Projects Manager to plan, manage and direct facilities for in-station and overseas UAE projects. You will oversee fit-out or renovation work, prepare drawings, and ensure design and engineering plans comply with Emirates standards.

The role requires extensive project management experience in interiors, large-scale commercial properties, and strong stakeholder coordination across UAE and international sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related, preferably with interior design and project management.
• 8 years of experience in Facilities, Maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyse user requirements to ensure on-time delivery and minimise deviations, while developing standardised specifications and costings.
• Plan, manage, and control fit out projects to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery in line with Emirates standards, coordinating with consultants, contractors and stakeholders for certification.
• Establish interior design standards to drive efficient, cost-effective processes across commercial properties, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Negotiate and review material/design approvals with consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure best quality and market value.
• Review contractor progress and monitor delivery against schedule, quality, design and cost with stakeholders.
• Maintain and drive compliance with building standards and manage construction/renovation activities with Facilities commercial unit to develop space planning standards.
• Advise and collaborate with user departments across UAE and outstations on construction and renovation requirements.

Job Purpose

The Emirates Group Facilities Management team, supports our extensive commercial hotels and residential property portfolios. Their aim is to constantly improve customer satisfaction and happiness through dedicated and quality service.

The role of the Design & Projects Manager is to plan, manage and direct the facilities for in-station and out-station (Overseas) projects and designated UAE projects. This includes project management, fit out and/or renovation work, preparing drawings, engineering planning and design of commercial properties in a most effective and efficient manner and in accordance with the company standards.

In this role, you will:

• Analyse user requirements to ensure on-time delivery and minimise deviations, while developing standardised specifications and costings to drive consistency, quality, and cost control.
• Plan, manage, and control fit out projects to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery in line with Emirate Group standards, while coordinating with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to secure efficient completion certification.
• Establish and implement interior design standards to drive efficient, cost-effective processes across commercial properties, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate, analyse and review the material and design approvals by consultants, contractors and suppliers ensuring the best quality material, competitive market value is obtained and the standards maintained.
• Review contractor progress reports and monitor project delivery against schedule, quality, design, and cost, ensuring timely alignment with all stakeholders.
• Maintain and drive compliance with building standards to ensure consistent project quality, while
• managing construction and renovation activities and partnering with the Facilities commercial unit to develop space planning standards.
• Advise and collaborate with user departments across UAE and outstations on construction and renovation requirements, ensuring effective delivery through execution and commissioning stages.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Qualifications: Degree in Architecture or related, preferably with specialisation in interior design and project management
• Experience: 8 years of experience in Facilities, Maintenance or other related field.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Experience in interiors design, fit out and project management of large scale commercial or corporate projects, including contractor, consultant and stakeholder management.
• Project management and delivery of large-scale fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Interior design and corporate fit-out standards.
• Cost control, budgeting and value engineering.
• Contract and vendor management.
• Regulatory and statutory compliance.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
