Sinopack Search is partnering with a leading international engineering and design consultancy expanding its UAE operation. We are seeking an experienced Design Manager who can oversee design across architecture, structures, civil, MEP, and related disciplines on major infra, transport, and mixed-use projects.

The role requires 12+ years in design/engineering delivery, with at least 5 years in the GCC, and a strong grasp of UAE approvals.

• Strong understanding of UAE design approvals and authority processes.
• Experience on large, technically complex multidisciplinary projects.

Responsabilidades

• Take the lead on design coordination across multiple technical disciplines.
• Manage design delivery against programme, quality and client requirements.
• Work directly with clients, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities.
• Review technical information and identify coordination, buildability and compliance issues.
• Manage design changes, technical queries and unresolved interfaces across the project team.
• Oversee design reviews, BIM coordination and model-based workflows.
• Support authority submissions and drive approvals through stages.
• Collaborate with project management and commercial teams on programme, resources and fee considerations.
• Manage technical risk and ensure key issues are identified early.
• Support value engineering and option studies where required.
• Help plan design resources and priorities across live projects.
• Contribute technical input into proposals and new project opportunities.

I’m working with an international engineering and design consultancy that is growing its UAE operation and looking to add an experienced Design Manager.

The role is suited to someone who has spent time in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment and is comfortable sitting across technical delivery, client coordination and design management on complex projects.

Projects will span major infrastructure, transport, buildings and mixed-use developments, with the Design Manager working across architecture, structures, civil, MEP and specialist disciplines.

The remit will include:

• Taking the lead on design coordination across multiple technical disciplines
• Managing design delivery against programme, quality and client requirements
• Working directly with clients, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities
• Reviewing technical information and identifying coordination, buildability and compliance issues
• Managing design changes, technical queries and unresolved interfaces across the project team
• Overseeing design reviews, BIM coordination and model-based workflows
• Supporting authority submissions and helping drive approvals through the relevant stages
• Working with project management and commercial teams on programme, resource and fee considerations
• Managing technical risk and ensuring key issues are identified early
• Supporting value engineering and option studies where required
• Helping plan design resources and priorities across live projects
• Contributing technical input into proposals and new project opportunities

They are looking for:

• 12+ years’ experience in design management, engineering management or technical project delivery
• At least 5 years’ experience working in the GCC
• Strong understanding of UAE design approvals and authority processes
• Experience on large, technically complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Good knowledge of BIM-led coordination and common document management systems
• Strong client-facing experience
• Good understanding of programme, change control, technical risk and the commercial impact of design decisions
• A relevant Engineering, Architecture or Construction-related degree

Professional chartership or membership with a recognised industry body would be preferred, and PMP would be useful.

The role can be based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
