Job summary

Black Pearl Consult is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Team Leader in Abu Dhabi to head a design team through concept, design, development, testing and final delivery. The role emphasizes 3D CAD/CAE, project leadership, and robust engineering documentation.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects with minimal supervision, review specifications, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement while liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Substantial experience in design engineering and 3D CAD/CAE.
• Advanced proficiency in Creo, Fusion 360, or comparable software.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, product development, and documentation.
• Experience leading engineering projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor engineering design projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with technical requirements.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and detailed documentation.
• Review customer specifications and translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Manage CAD models, drawings, BOMs, calculations, and design parameters.
• Analyse design issues, identify root causes, and support testing and simulation activities.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
• Support tenders, compliance documentation, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers on technical requirements.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, functionality, and performance specs.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers.
