Job summary

GEMS Wellington Academy, Al Khail in Dubai invites applications for Prep School Deputy Head - Academic (Pupil Progress). You will lead assessment systems, data collection, and analysis across the prep school, partnering with the Head of Prep and leadership team to secure sustained pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field.
• Master's degree or National Professional Qualification in Education preferred.
• Outstanding classroom practitioner with strong academic credibility.
• Advanced ability to manage, analyse, and interpret large volumes of data.
• Deep understanding of British curriculum frameworks, KHDA and BSO inspection standards, and GEMS expectations.
• Excellent organisational, IT, numeracy, literacy, and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and review of internal and external assessment policies.
• Ensure accurate, valid, and consistent formative and summative assessment across the school.
• Lead National Agenda and National Benchmark Assessments to secure outstanding performance.
• Coordinate, timetable, and oversee whole-school attainment and progress data collections.
• Lead detailed analysis of pupil performance to support subject leaders in evaluating progress and attainment.
• Ensure assessment data is relevant, accessible, and actively used by teachers to raise standards.
• Lead moderation of internal assessments to align with curriculum expectations.
• Oversee the development of high-quality intervention programmes and associated staff training.
• Ensure robust transition data is completed, with particular focus on FS2 to Year 1 and Year 6 to Secondary transitions.
