Job summary

Accor in Dubai is hiring a Commis Chef to support the kitchen team. You will assist in food preparation, mise en place, and cooking under the Chef de Partie, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and guest satisfaction.

You will work across stations, maintain hygiene, help with menu development, train juniors, and adapt to different sections. A culinary diploma and UAE eligibility are required, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Culinary diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong cooking skills and passion for food.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• UAE residency and immediate availability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: assist in ingredients prep, mise en place and cooking under the Chef de Partie.
• Cooking: execute tasks per recipes and hotel quality standards.
• Station Management: maintain assigned kitchen section, cleanliness and equipment function.
• Quality Control: ensure taste, presentation and standards before serving.
• Safety and Hygiene: follow food safety regulations and proper handling, storage, disposal.
• Menu Development: assist in developing new items and testing recipes.
• Team Collaboration: work with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Inventory Management: monitor stock and place orders.
• Training: mentor junior kitchen staff including Commis Chefs and apprentices.
• Adaptability: work across kitchen sections as needed.
