TMC Middle East in Dubai, UAE is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead design and delivery of Generative AI solutions, focusing on agentic systems and production-grade RAG architectures. The role is highly hands-on, combining coding with technical leadership and architecture ownership.

You will design agentic RAG systems, guide production deployment, and mentor teams while staying closely connected to code and cutting-edge AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data science, ML or AI engineering.
• Experience building agentic RAG systems beyond chatbots.

Responsibilities

Principal Data Scientist – Generative AI & Agentic Systems

Location: Dubai, UAE

We are looking for an exceptional Principal Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions, with a particular focus on Generative AI, agentic systems and production-grade RAG architectures.

This is a highly hands-on technical role. The successful candidate will remain close to the code while providing technical leadership, owning complex solution domains and translating real business problems into scalable AI products.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of relevant experience across Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering or closely related areas.
• Strong recent experience building complex agentic RAG systems, beyond standard question-answering chatbots.
• Deep practical knowledge of LLMs, retrieval, embeddings, vector databases, agent orchestration and production AI architectures.
• Strong hands-on Python skills and current software engineering practices, including APIs, testing, version control, CI/CD and maintainable production code.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, team leadership or ownership of a significant technical domain.
• A track record of translating AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
• Experience operating in demanding, technically sophisticated environments.
• Broader experience across different organisations, products or business domains is highly valued.

Nice to have

• Experience productising AI and ML solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Cloud-native architecture and deployment experience.
• Strong MLOps and data engineering exposure.
• Experience taking Generative AI products from prototype through to reliable production use.
