Job summary

PCS Gulf is seeking a Backup & Recovery Administrator in Dubai to manage daily backup jobs, ensure data protection, and maintain high availability of the data protection platform across On-Premises and Cloud environments.

The role requires strong Veritas NetBackup experience, Windows Server and Azure proficiency, and ITIL process knowledge, with a focus on maintaining robust disaster recovery capabilities.

Qualifications

Certification in Windows Servers, Azure Cloud Technologies & Virtualization.
ITIL processes: Incident, Service Request and Change Management.
4+ years managing Veritas NetBackup in a large org.
5+ years handling Veritas NetBackup at scale.

Responsibilities

Day to day administration of Backup & Recovery Jobs.
Ensure organization data is adequately protected and recoverable at any time.
Installation, Configuration and Administration of Data Protection Platform.
Ensure high availability of the Data protection platform (On-Premises & Cloud).
Conduct periodic recovery tests to verify effectiveness of backup/recovery.

Roles And Responsibilities

Day to day administration of Backup & Recovery Jobs.
Ensure organization data is adequately protected, and recoverable at any point of time.
Installation, Configuration and Administration of Data Protection Platform.
Ensure high availability of the Data protection platform (On-Premises & Cloud).
Conduct periodic recovery, to test the effectiveness of backup and recovery solution.
Periodic review of backup requirements with application owners.
Maintain accurate documentation of data protection platform including architecture, policies, and configuration.
Continuously monitor the Data Protection Platform capability, innovations/improvements, and propose adequate optimizations, modernizations, and enhancements.
Ensure all the tape media are vaulted securely and always available, if required for data restoration.

Qualifications

Certification in Windows Servers, Azure Cloud Technologies & Virtualization.
Thorough with ITIL Process (Incident, Service Request and Change Management).
At least 4 years of experience in managing Veritas NetBackup platform in a large organization.
Minimum 5 years of working experience on managing Veritas NetBackup solution in a large organization.

Strong Understanding of Azure Cloud Technology.
