Amazon Data Services Emirates LLC - Dubai Branch is hiring a Data Center Technician/Engineer in Dubai. The role focuses on operating and maintaining data center IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware, and supporting secure, reliable cloud services for AWS customers.

You will join the Data Center Operations (DCO) team and work on break-fix repairs, decommissions, and collaboration with cross-functional teams while following safety and process standards.

Qualifications

We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Technicians are the primary resolver and troubleshoot and solve a range of datacenter infrastructure issues including, but not limited to: hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. You will be part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and hardware for data centers in AWS Cloud regions. You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on different hardware and software cases. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve most infrastructure issues and engage other appropriate solutions groups on more complex problems to drive solutions.

Key job responsibilities

Execution & Troubleshooting

• Perform a variety of DCO procedures including break-and-fix repairs, host-level decommissions (HLD), server rack decommissions (SRD), media removal, media destruction, and first responder duties
• Troubleshoot hardware issues using SOPs and available documentation; elevate when actions deviate from established procedures.

Scope & Decision-Making

• Operate across one or more process paths within the DCO team, applying knowledge to determine the correct task or procedure — including slight deviations — to achieve desired outcomes
• Work is reviewed daily by supervision.

Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate clearly via tickets, SIMs, task tracking entries, and write-ups
• Participate effectively in team meetings and present work to leaders

Impact & Process Improvement

• Deliver work that impacts team metrics including ticket resolution, decom throughput, and safety compliance
• Take action to improve operational excellence within DCO workflows

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all DC safety protocols during red zone (RZ) and floor operations
• Support safety inspections and maintain site compliance standards

Basic Qualifications

• UAE National Only with a valid family book
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Experience in computer networking
• High school or equivalent diploma

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a data center or other critical environment
