Job summary

Dalil Information Technology | UAE is seeking a Data Center Design Engineer – Electrical (Pre-Sales) to develop electrical designs, technical solutions, and cost estimates for data center projects during pre-sales.

You will design UPS, generators, MV/LV switchgear, PDU, and distribution layouts, perform load studies, and prepare technical proposals aligned with IEC, NFPA, and local standards. A B.E. in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in data centers are required, with AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Uptime Institute, TIA-942, IEC, and NFPA standards is an advantage.
• Experience in pre-sales, tendering, estimation, and technical proposal preparation.
• Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, MV/LV systems, switchgear, power distribution, and critical power systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical concepts and designs for data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Design and select UPS systems, generators, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, DBs, battery systems.
• Perform load calculations, capacity assessments, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing.
• Develop SLDs, electrical layouts, power distribution diagrams, equipment schedules, and technical specs.
• Review tender documents, client specs, drawings, and electrical scope requirements.
• Prepare BOQs, technical proposals, compliance statements, equipment selections, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for proposals and quotations.
• Develop electrical redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N, distributed); support availability objectives.
• Review protection, coordination, earthing, lightning protection, and power quality requirements.
• Participate in client/consultant meetings and provide technical presentations.
• Support commercial teams with clarifications, value engineering, and proposal prep.
• Review electrical designs for compliance with IEC, NFPA, DEWA/ADDC/SEWA UAE regulations.

Role Summary

Responsible for developing electrical designs, technical solutions, cost estimates, and proposals for data center and mission-critical projects during the pre-sales and tendering stages. The role will focus on developing reliable and redundant electrical infrastructure in line with client requirements and data center availability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical concepts and designs for data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Design and select UPS systems, generators, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, DBs, battery systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Perform load calculations, capacity assessments, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit studies, and electrical equipment sizing.
• Develop SLDs, electrical layouts, power distribution diagrams, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
• Review tender documents, client specifications, drawings, and electrical scope requirements.
• Prepare BOQs, technical proposals, compliance statements, equipment selections, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers to obtain technical proposals and commercial quotations.
• Develop electrical redundancy concepts including N, N+1, 2N, and distributed redundant configurations.
• Support data center Tier requirements and availability/maintainability objectives.
• Review electrical protection, coordination, earthing, lightning protection, and power quality requirements.
• Participate in client/consultant meetings and provide technical presentations.
• Support commercial teams with technical clarifications, value engineering, and proposal preparation.
• Review electrical designs for compliance with IEC, NFPA, DEWA/ADDC/SEWA requirements, UAE regulations, and project-specific standards.
• Support testing, commissioning, and technical clarification during project execution when required.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, MV/LV systems, switchgear, power distribution, and critical power systems.
• Experience in pre-sales, tendering, estimation, and technical proposal preparation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM and electrical design software are an advantage.
• Knowledge of Uptime Institute, TIA-942, IEC, and NFPA standards is an advantage.
