Through the CMA CGM Foundation, the Group acts in humanitarian crises that require an emergency response by mobilizing the Group’s shipping and logistics expertise to bring humanitarian supplies around the world.

Present in 160 countries through its network of more than 400 offices and 750 warehouses, the Group employs more than 155,000 people worldwide, including 4,000 in Marseilles where its head office is located.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the COO and working at the heart of the Abu Dhabi Regional Operations team, the V.I.E. will combine operational efficiency improvement with data analytics to support regional performance and strategic decision-making. Created in the context of significant network expansion, the role will support process optimisation, fleet planning, cost management, competitive intelligence and regional development. The V.I.E. will work with a high level of autonomy, manage multiple priorities and deliver reliable analyses and recommendations to senior management.

Key Missions
  • Operational Excellence: Map, analyse and benchmark processes across line operations, port operations and feeder network management. Identify bottlenecks and standardisation gaps, then implement improvements relating to workflows, schedule reliability, vessel turnaround times, port stays, berth utilisation and agent performance.
  • Performance Management: Build and maintain a comprehensive operational KPI framework, dashboards and reporting tools. Produce monthly efficiency reports for the COO and regional management, highlighting performance trends, root causes, corrective actions and priority improvement areas.
  • Fleet and Network Planning: Support vessel allocation, fleet utilisation and capacity planning across feeder and intra-regional services. Monitor port stays, slot-fill ratios, idle capacity and deviations from plan, while developing scenario models for vessel additions, redeployments and service changes.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain structured intelligence on competitor services, frequencies, vessel deployments, port rotations, capacity changes and new launches across key MEA corridors. Use industry platforms such as Alphaliner, LINERLYTICA, MDS Transmodal and AIS tools to provide regular market insights to operational and commercial teams.
  • OPEX and CIP Monitoring: Maintain live cost and CIP dashboards, produce weekly budget variance reports and monitor significant deviations. Conduct port-cost benchmarking and develop scenarios to support rotation optimisation, port-call frequency decisions, annual budgeting and cost forecasting. Regional Development: Provide analytical support for new corridors, trade-lane expansion and regional business opportunities. Develop business cases for new services, port calls, network extensions and land-bridge solutions, considering volume potential, revenue, costs, transit times, infrastructure and regulatory developments.

Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Data Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a related field, with two to three years of relevant experience.
