Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment is sourcing a Cylindrical Grinding Operator in Dubai for a specialist engineering company. The role focuses on setting up machines, performing external cylindrical grinding, and ensuring high-precision finishes to tight tolerances.

You will inspect components using precision measuring tools, read and interpret drawings, and maintain quality records while collaborating with production and quality teams to meet client specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on cylindrical grinding experience in precision engineering.
• Experience in external cylindrical grinding and reading engineering drawings.
• Proficient with grinding wheel selection, dressing, speeds, and feeds.
• Competent with precision measuring instruments.
• Technical, vocational, or engineering qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines for external grinding.
• Mount, dress grinding wheels and adjust speeds/feeds for finishes and tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
• Inspect components with micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges.
• Identify and rectify dimensional or surface finish issues during production.
• Maintain inspection records and uphold quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements.

Role Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering and surface technology company seeking an experienced Cylindrical Grinding Operator. This is a hands‑on role focused on producing high-precision components to tight tolerances, taking responsibility for machine setup, grinding operations, inspection, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines for external and internal grinding where required.
• Select, mount, and dress grinding wheels to achieve required finishes and tolerances.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and machine settings for optimal machining performance.
• Interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
• Identify and rectify dimensional or surface‑finish issues during production.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and uphold quality and safety standards.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on cylindrical grinding experience within a precision engineering environment.
• Proven experience in external cylindrical grinding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of grinding wheel selection, dressing, speeds, and feeds.
• Competence using precision measuring instruments.
• Technical, vocational, or engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in internal cylindrical grinding.
• Background in aerospace, oil and gas, automotive, or other precision engineering industries.
