Job summary

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites applications from Ph.D. holders for full-time faculty positions in the College of Security & Global Studies.

Teaching will be conducted in English across courses such as Crisis Management, Emergency Management, and Disaster Management with a 24 credit hour annual load. Responsibilities include teaching, assessing student work, advising students, and participating in committees and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Emergency/Crisis Management from USA or equivalent.
• Ability to map graduate/PhD courses; evidence of US credit system.
• Minimum one Scopus publication.
• 2+ years teaching in an internationally accredited university.

The faculty required will be teaching in one or more of the following Specializations:

College of Security & Global Studies

• Crisis Management

Instruction Language: English

Teaching Load: 24 credit hours per academic year.

Job Purpose

Responsible to provide students with professional expertise in teaching, assessing student work, academic advising, participating in administrative and committee activities, professional service, and community service.

Qualifications & Education

• Ph.D. in the related field of Emergency / Crisis Management from an accredited university in the United States of America or a recognized University accredited by an American Accreditation body with a minimum 3 years of field experience in the industry
• Ability to map graduate and PhD courses or by research 18 credit hours of graduate studies (with evidence of similar US credit system in the required fields
• Minimum one research publication in Scopus journal

Experience

• Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching/working experience in an internationally accredited university.
• Applicants must have a minimum of 3 publications in the last 5 years.
• Proven record of excellence at baccalaureate and graduate program level teaching
