Job summary

Celebrity Cruises is seeking a Pastry Cook to oversee the pastry shop operations aboard our ship. The role involves producing and presenting pastries for daily menus, ensuring quality and cost control, and assisting in forecasting and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee smooth operation of the Pastry Shop and production daily.
• Ensure production, quality and presentation of pastries for daily menus.
• Assist in forecasting production and recording leftovers to control waste and costs.
• Assist in pastry display setup for buffets.
• Ensure compliance with USPH rules and regulations.
• Maintain pastry galley cleanliness and protect equipment.
• Prepare for USPH inspections and coordinate with management or inspectors.
• Manage requisitions and transport items from main stores to pastry shop.
• Ensure recipes and yields align with company standards.
• Assist in daily pastry consumption recaps and inquiries from guests and crew.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
• Minimum three years' experience as a Pastry Cook in a related setting; shipboard experience preferred.
