Job summary

botim is hiring a Credit Risk Manager to own the credit risk strategy for a revolving lending product. You will decide who we lend to, how much and on what terms, so the portfolio grows within risk appetite.

You will lead risk policy, scorecard development, fraud controls, and portfolio monitoring with a data-driven approach across UAE markets. The role requires 5–10 years in credit risk and advanced SQL plus Python or R.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in credit risk for consumer lending, BNPL or digital lending, including ownership of a product's risk strategy.
• Proven experience setting underwriting rules, scorecard cutoffs and credit limits.
• Advanced SQL and working Python or R.
• Strong grasp of scorecard metrics (Gini, KS, PSI) and delinquency analysis (vintages, roll rates, early default).
• Experience with fraud controls and decisioning or rule engines.
• Knowledge of the UAE credit market and bureau data is a strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field as described.

Responsibilities

• Own the credit risk policy for the product: underwriting rules, approval criteria and risk appetite.
• Manage application scorecards with data science, from development and validation to cutoff setting and monitoring.
• Design credit limit and exposure strategy across customer segments.
• Own fraud prevention rules at onboarding and disbursement, working with fraud and engineering teams.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including approval rates, early delinquency, roll rates and losses, and act on emerging trends.
• Run tests on rules, cutoffs and limits, and turn results into policy changes.
• Lead the risk framework as the product expands to new customer segments and integrates with other credit products.
• Report portfolio health and recommendations to Risk leadership and product stakeholders.
