Job summary

VitalEssence Spa in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to lead the pastry kitchen, create a wide range of pastries, cakes and desserts, and ensure consistency with recipes and presentation. You will develop new recipes using local flavors, supervise junior pastry cooks, oversee inventory, and collaborate with chefs to craft seasonal menus in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role.
Knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, flavor combinations and presentation.
Creativity and ability to develop new recipes.
Strong leadership skills and ability to train junior staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Excellent time management skills.
Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Create and prepare high-quality pastries, cakes and desserts according to recipes and standards.
Develop new pastry recipes that incorporate local flavors and ingredients.
Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner for service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies placing orders as needed.
Train and mentor junior pastry cooks.
Collaborate with other chefs to create balanced menus.
