Job summary

Leading Edge is hiring a Controls Engineer for its UAE operations, onsite. The role requires hands-on design, implementation and maintenance of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and HMI panels within a fast-paced engineering environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong UAE or GCC background, proven PLC/SCADA/HMI proficiency, and a degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field. UAE residency and right to work are essential.

• Proven UAE or GCC region experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement control systems for industrial and mechanical applications.
• Programme, configure, and maintain PLCs, SCADA, and HMI panels.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Prepare technical documentation including control system specifications, wiring diagrams, and commissioning reports.
• Identify and resolve control system faults and performance issues promptly.
• Ensure all control systems comply with UAE safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Role Overview

Our Client is a well-established organisation in the UAE seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with a strong UAE or GCC background to join their growing engineering team. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in control systems design, implementation, and maintenance within a technical and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial and mechanical applications.
• Programme, configure, and maintain PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) panels.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Prepare technical documentation including control system specifications, wiring diagrams, and commissioning reports.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Controls Engineer within the UAE or GCC region is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI configuration.
• Solid understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Experience with industrial automation and control system integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Must be currently based in the UAE with valid residency and legal right to work.
