Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a qualified attorney to provide substantive legal services to the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI). You will review research agreements including clinical trial, collaboration, research service, data use, and grant agreements while staying current on relevant legal developments.

Responsibilities include handling a high volume of contracts (roughly 200–400 per year), ensuring compliance within specialized areas of law, and collaborating on Law Department

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Two to five years of attorney or comparable direct legal experience.
• Member in good standing of the state bar or ability to join within a reasonable period.
• Primary experience in reviewing contracts (research, general, or supply chain).
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
• Ability to perform work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Review research agreements including clinical trial, collaboration, research service, data use, and grant agreements.
• Maintain expertise and advise department members regarding legal developments.
• Ensure compliance within specialized areas of law.

• Collaborate on projects and leadership initiatives within the Law Department.
