Job summary

Habitat Health seeks an experienced in-house counsel to guide People Team operations, product collaboration, and privacy compliance in a healthcare regulatory landscape in the UAE. You will navigate employment law, vendor contracts, and cross-functional risk management.

Ideal candidate has JD, bar membership (prefer CA), and a track record leading healthcare or tech-focused legal teams, engaging with CMS/DHCS/OIG, and advising executives on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in a state bar association (California preferred).
• Experience leading in-house or law firm legal teams.
• Experience supporting HR, Product, and Privacy teams.
• Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and California-specific laws.
• Experience engaging with CMS, DHCS, or OIG.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with privacy laws such as HIPAA and CPRA.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across operations and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor healthcare-specific regulatory changes including value-based care and PACE programs.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clinicians, facilities, and partners.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel.
• Advise executives on day-to-day operational and strategic decisions.
