The Content Writer creates, rewrites, localizes and optimizes bilingual website and editorial content for the clients' new digital platform. Working to the approved content strategy, tone of voice and SEO briefs, the role produces English master content and contextually adapted Arabic content that is accurate, accessible, search-friendly and ready for CMS implementation. AI tools may be used to speed up drafting and checks, but accountability for accuracy stays with the writer.
Key responsibilities
Content audit and planning
- Support the content audit with rewrite vs net-new assessments of existing content.
- Rewrite and optimize existing content in line with the approved content decision matrix.
- Consolidate content and remove duplication.
Website and UX copywriting
- Write copy for approximately 50 priority pages plus microcopy, per the approved content inventory, to the UI-aligned content blueprints and each template's content capacity.
- Write UX copy, microcopy, navigation and label copy, and calls to action.
- Write FAQs and supporting content.
Bilingual content (English & Arabic)
- Develop English master content.
- Adapt English content contextually into Arabic (not direct translation), ensuring RTL readiness and parity in meaning, tone and usability.
- Draft English and Arabic content in Google Docs for Client review and comment.
- Adapt approved video scripts, voiceover copy, captions and on-screen copy into Arabic where required (scripts are led by the Script Writer).
- Review, standardize and prepare bilingual versions of clients downloadable assets, where confirmed in scope.
SEO, accessibility and standards
- Apply SEO briefs from the first draft: keyword focus, search intent, heading structure and internal linking.
- Write page titles, meta descriptions and other structured CMS fields in line with SEO & AI Content Specialist recommendations.
- Apply the approved tone of voice, terminology and editorial standards, using stakeholder input captured through the AI-enabled collaboration tool.
- Write in plain, accessible language to support WCAG 2.1 AA, including descriptive link text and image alt text.
Editorial content
- Write articles, blogs and guides as scheduled in the 12-month rolling editorial calendar.
- Produce supporting editorial content.
CMS preparation, review and QA
- Format content and prepare CMS-ready content packages mapped to the approved templates and components.
- Revise content based on consolidated stakeholder feedback received through the Project Manager.
- Make final refinements after client’s Legal / Compliance review, and run English-Arabic parity and consistency checks.
- Carry out final editorial proofreading and quality assurance.
- Fix content defects raised during QA, UAT and the warranty period, and make minor updates during maintenance.
