Role Context
This Consultant Plastic Surgeon position requires comprehensive expertise across reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. The appointed physician will assess patients, develop individualized treatment plans, perform technically demanding procedures, and oversee recovery while ensuring realistic expectations and informed consent. The role also involves collaboration with oncology, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, anaesthesia, and critical care specialists. Arabic fluency is mandatory for consultations, patient education, and effective communication with Dubai 's diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgical services in accordance with recognized international standards.
- Perform trauma reconstruction, microsurgery, burn reconstruction, and post-oncologic restorative procedures.
- Undertake facial, breast, and body-contouring surgery based on individual clinical needs and suitable treatment goals.
- Deliver appropriate non-surgical aesthetic interventions within the approved professional scope of practice.
- Conduct detailed consultations, physical examinations, diagnostic reviews, and pre-operative risk assessments.
- Prepare individualized surgical plans that reflect the patient 's condition, expectations, and long-term care needs.
- Explain treatment options, expected outcomes, possible complications, recovery periods, and aftercare requirements.
- Obtain informed consent and ensure patients understand the benefits and limitations of recommended procedures.
- Monitor post-operative recovery and provide structured follow-up, wound management, and complication care.
- Maintain evidence-based clinical practice in compliance with Dubai Health Authority regulations.
- Coordinate complex and high-acuity cases with relevant medical and surgical departments.
- Provide culturally appropriate consultations and counselling in Arabic.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient-safety activities.
- Uphold the professional conduct and service standards expected within Dubai 's premium healthcare sector.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree such as an MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Board certification or fellowship in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery.
- Valid DHA Consultant licence or eligibility for consultant-level registration in Dubai.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of post-specialization experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
- Proven ability to perform complex reconstructive procedures, including trauma and burn reconstruction.
- Demonstrated experience in facial, breast, and body-contouring surgery.
- Competence in suitable non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
- Professional English communication skills are preferred.
- Excellent surgical judgement, clinical decision-making, and attention to detail.
- Strong patient-counselling and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Capacity to manage demanding cases within a multicultural and multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
