Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
• Recognized postgraduate specialization in Pediatric Surgery.
• Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent qualification in Pediatric Surgery.
• Valid DHA License or Eligibility Letter, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Relevant UAE PQR-compliant post-specialization clinical experience for Consultant title.
• Demonstrated expertise in neonatal and complex pediatric surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired pediatric surgical conditions.
• Perform complex pediatric surgical procedures including neonatal and minimally invasive surgeries.
• Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and other specialists.
• Counsel families regarding procedures, risks, and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, managing, and performing surgical procedures for infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired surgical conditions in pediatric patients.
2. Perform complex pediatric surgical procedures, including neonatal, gastrointestinal, thoracic, and minimally invasive surgeries.
3. Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care.
4. Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and trauma cases.
5. Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists.
6. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and diagnostic findings.
7. Perform laparoscopic and other minimally invasive pediatric procedures when clinically appropriate.
8. Counsel patients' families regarding surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes.
9. Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and international patient safety standards.
10. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
11. Maintain accurate medical documentation and contribute to medical education and professional development.
