Job summary

Stafmed is recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Neonatologist for a full-time role at a leading UAE hospital. The successful candidate will provide expert newborn care, including premature and critically ill neonates, in a progressive clinical environment committed to evidence-based neonatal medicine.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, management of neonates, NICU leadership, procedures, ventilation support, and collaboration with obstetricians, nurses, and pediatricians.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Neonatology/Pediatrics with recognised subspecialty training.
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification and certification equivalents.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Neonatology.
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonates.
• Manage premature, low-birth-weight and critically ill newborns.
• Provide advanced neonatal intensive care and respiratory support.
• Handle neonatal emergencies and complex medical conditions.
• Perform and oversee neonatal procedures within area of expertise.
• Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Monitor growth, development, and clinical progress.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in clinical governance, audits and quality improvement.
• Support departmental education, teaching and service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonates
• Manage premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns
• Provide advanced neonatal intensive care
• Manage neonatal emergencies and complex medical conditions
• Perform and oversee neonatal procedures within the candidate's area of expertise
• Provide respiratory support and manage neonatal complications
• Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment plans
• Monitor neonatal growth, development, and clinical progress
• Collaborate with pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Board certification in Neonatology / Pediatrics with recognised Neonatology subspecialty training
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, German Facharzt, French DES, or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialisation experience in Neonatology
• Strong clinical experience in neonatal intensive care and management of critically ill newborns
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
