Job summary

SearchPlus HR Consultancy seeks an experienced Consultant General Surgeon for a government hospital in the UAE. The role provides exposure to elective and emergency procedures within an advanced hospital, with multidisciplinary collaboration and a focus on surgical excellence.

The successful candidate will hold a medical degree with recognised general surgery qualification, board certification, and established consultant-level experience.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with a general surgery qualification and board certification.
• Evidence of consultant-level surgical experience.
• Experience in elective and emergency general surgery.
• Commitment to patient safety and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage a wide range of general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
• Manage complex abdominal and GI, hernia, soft tissue cases.
• Pre-operative assessment and treatment planning.
• Post-operative care and complication monitoring.
• Respond to surgical emergencies with timely intervention.
• Collaborate with anesthesiology, radiology, oncology, and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and infection-control standards.
• Engage in audits, teaching, research, and quality improvement.
• Support development of surgical protocols and services.
