Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments, examinations, and clinical diagnosis for patients presenting to the emergency department with acute or life‑threatening conditions.
- Provide timely treatment plans to stabilize patients, reduce clinical risk, and prevent further deterioration.
- Manage emergency cases involving trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, neurological emergencies, sepsis, shock, acute pain, and critical medical presentations.
- Coordinate with physicians, surgeons, intensivists, nurses, radiology teams, laboratory staff, and allied health professionals to deliver complete emergency care.
- Perform or supervise emergency procedures in line with consultant‑level clinical standards and hospital protocols.
- Oversee junior doctors and emergency department staff, providing guidance, mentorship, escalation support, and clinical decision‑making input.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, procedures, treatment plans, referrals, and discharge or admission decisions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, emergency care reviews, and patient safety programs.
- Stay updated with current emergency medicine standards, resuscitation guidelines, acute care protocols, and continuous professional development requirements.
- Support an efficient emergency department workflow while maintaining compassionate communication with patients and families.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine from a recognised authority (UK CCT, American Board, Canadian Board, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of post‑graduate experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Strong clinical background in acute care, trauma response, emergency diagnosis, resuscitation, and rapid patient stabilization.
- Previous Middle East healthcare experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Fluent English communication required; Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced and multicultural emergency department environment.
